Why you ask?

Really?!? Another blog about farming, or homesteading or whatever we call this wonderful mess we're in? Yeah, guess so. I'm not a writer, I'm not even very open about my personal life. So why? Because I have learned so much from the other blogs about this stuff that maybe I can help others see the light. I also want to share the excitement that I have being a first time homesteader. Those of you who have been doing this a while may have forgotten the craziness and wonder of that first chicken or the first time you had a meal from your garden. Maybe we can inspire those of you who would like to get started to take that first tentative step and join the rest of us nut cases. Will I write daily? Dream on. I'll post when I can or when the mood strikes or when some new magical occurrence happens here at Hawk's Cry. There will be posts about chickens, religion, guns, gardening, and whatever other craziness I can think up. Who am I? Why the name Hawk's Cry? Why would I want to give it all up in the first post?
